Murray Energy, the largest underground coal mining company in the United States, has recently installed a new E-Crane for handling fly ash at its facility near Moundsville, WV. Murray Energy produces about 65 million tonnes of coal annually, providing reliable electric power to many customers.
The new E-Crane is barge mounted, and unloads barges of fly ash, a coal combustion byproduct. The fly ash is loaded into a specialized hopper, also mounted on the barge alongside the E-Crane. The material is then conveyed to a truck loading station.

New Barge Mounted E-Crane at Mulzer Crushed Stone
In early 2016, Mulzer Crushed Stone ordered a Series 1500B / Model 11264 E-Crane which will be mounted on a deck barge. The E-Crane has a maximum duty cycle capacity of 16.5 Mtons (18.2 UStons) and a maximum outreach of 26.4 meters (86.5 feet). This is a flexible mobile floating offloading platform that allows barge unloading to a shore mounted hopper, floating hopper or direct to trucks depending on the product and location. The floating rig incorporates the latest design for spud operation, barge haul winches and power distribution.

Adegem, July 2014: It was a very busy start of the year at the E-Crane Worldwide assembly facilities. Many orders were received from both Europe and the US. However, Asia did even better with 6 cranes in total.
It was a long ‘sprint’ to get all these projects assembled and shipped on time to our customers. Especially the 6 E-Cranes for the Asian market (5x 700 Series and 1 x 1000B Series E-Crane) took a major logistical effort as these cranes all had to be loaded onto one and the same vessel at the port of Antwerp by mid June 2014

New E-Crane to Handle Coal at Kinder Morgan
Kinder Morgan placed an order for an E-Crane early in 2013 for their International Marine Terminals (IMT) facility in Port Sulphur, LA near New Orleans. Kinder Morgan is currently engaged in a multi-phase expansion of the terminal to increase the throughput and storage capacity of the facility. This expansion includes the addition of a new continuous barge unloader (CBU), a new Gulf barge unloader, expansion of reclaim and product blending capabilities, expansion of coal yard storage area, and various other upgrades to the facility.

The counterweight is filled, diesel gen set has been started, the installation team lead by E-Crane veteran Steve Suter is performing tuning and testing today and tomorrow.
