This year Jan De Smet and Lieven Bauwens defended for the second time the E-Crane colors during the Transrockies MTB-race. This year the TransRockies MTB-race rolled out of Fernie, BC (Canada) bound for Canmore, Alberta (Canada) 7 long and hard riding days away.
The spectacular 400km route through the high Canadian Rockies includes mainly single track and crosses the biggest mountains. This is a very serious undertaking for all who is participating as this is the toughest MTB-race on earth!
Despite the fact that the preparation for this race was difficult and full of unforeseen obstacles Jan and Lieven were able to complete the race succesfully. In the 80+ category with a total riding time of 33 hours and 38 minutes the E-Crane team took possession of the 17th place.
The last two days it was real battle with the English team ‘Wherethelarwi’. As the E-Crane team grew during the race with little or no loss of performance our E-Crane team competed hard for place 16 reducing the day-5 time gap from 30 minutes to… less then 3 (!) minutes in Canmore.
Special thanks also for Nicole who took great care of the E-Crane riders and their injuries.
Many thanks to all who supported the E-Crane team!
