Recently, we set up a warehouse space free of charge for the working group ‘Children’s Cancer Fund’. Three enthusiastic ladies, Magda Vandermeersch, Linda De Croock and Marita Coddens along with their companion Geert, visited E-Crane® recently to make further arrangements.
The move has already taken place, and their materials have found a new home. E-Crane® is happy to give the volunteers at ‘Children’s Cancer Fund’ a helping hand.
We paid a brief visit to the ladies while they were hard at work. One of the volunteers, Marita Coddens, told us that this initiative has already existed for 23 years and was created by the president, Magda Vandermeersch.
Marita has been a member of this group for 20 years and is active in the Family Union. She is also a board member of health care, and an accompanist to healthcare travel. She also provides the flowers in the church and the hospital of Sijsele. Flower arranging has long been a passion of Marita, hence combining her hobby with a good deed is the perfect reason for this voluntary work and providers her with a lot of satisfaction.
The ladies especially enjoy the social contact while working. Currently there are about 75 people active who are alternately responsible for several volunteer schedules , but there are never too many helping hands. Every year they publish a call for new voluneers in local newspapers including ‘De Meetjeslander’ and ‘Het Vrij Maldegem’. Anyone interested can contact them this way.
Marita and her team wish everyone at E-Crane great holidays and most importantly, a good health!
