An 800tph E-Crane™ Model 10264PD-E recently installed for Wayne B. Smith (USA),
which unloads different bulk materials from jumbo barges

E-Crane International (ECI), manufacturer of the so-called E-Crane™ (Equilibrium Crane), reports several machine sales over the last few months. The E-Crane™, a mobile grab loading/unloading crane can be supplied with maximum capacities of 4-45 tonnes and reaches up to 45m. Models with free digging capacities of up to 2000tph are available and can be mounted on a choice of different undercarriages, fixed or mobile, land or barge mounted.
ECI works together with potential and existing customersto find complete bulk material handling solutions based around the E-Crane™ concept.
The E-Crane™ is very flexible where it comes to handling different bulk commodities. The hydraulic grab, with grab rotator, can be changed in a matter of minutes to a grab for bulk materials with different densities. As an option the cranes can also be delivered with a hook for general lift work, a magnet or other load carrying devices.
ECI has been especially successful in the USA where machines have been sold to companies such as Cargill (two units), Wayne B. Smith and Lafarge.
Also a crawler mounted E-Crane™ with 15 tonnes capacity and 26.4m maximum reach was delivered towards end-2000 to Zeehavenbedrijf Dordrecht, a stevedoring company in the Netherlands, which will be used at its Dordrecht multi-bulk terminal.
Eci notes that whereas in the European market often mobile solutions for optimum flexibility are elected, in North America users often prefer a fixed installation for use at one terminal.
