Two 2000 Series E-Cranes are operating at Balikpapan Coal Terminal, owned by Bayan Resources. At this terminal barges from Bayan’s different mine sites are unloaded and transported to stockpile after which coal is loaded by dedicated ship loaders into large ocean going vessels.
The E-Cranes typically unload coal from 8,000 DWT deck barges into two hoppers (selection of hopper depends on swing angle ). Design capacity of each crane is 1,500 tons per hour and up to 400,000 tons per month is being unloaded with one E-Crane.
Both cranes are also covered by a full maintenance contract where E-Crane’s Balikpapan service centre takes care of all maintenance and parts (except daily maintenance) – both scheduled and corrective – accomplishing a crane availability of over 99% since both cranes were put in operation (well over 30,000 operating hours to date).
