Recently the DIAP-DAELIM joint venture has completed the reclamation works for phase 1 of Tuas Port in the west of Singapore. Reportedly 450 companies took part in the project totalling 34 million man hours. For the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore this is a major milestone in the construction of Singapore’s Next Generation Port. A LIDEX scrap shear has just been started up at the GALLOO Group site in the Ardennes. The machine is installed in GALLOO’s subsidiary in Hirson, bought by the Group in 2006, and which then moved to a new site in the same city in 2009. The team, managed by Benoit Hincelin, has developed the activity from 1,000 to 3,000 tons processed per month. The old 800-ton shear was worn out and insufficient for those new production needs.
