Shah Cement Ltd. Bangladesh: not just a pioneer in Cement Industry!

Shah Cement Ltd., already a pioneer in the Cement Industry as Shah also just recently has installed one of the first 1000-Series E-Cranes in Bangladesh. At E-Crane we have the greatest respect for all our visionary customers. This is certainly the case for Shah Cement Ltd., one of the larger cement producing companies in Bangladesh.

Recently a 1000 B-Series E-Crane, model 7264, was successfully installed and put into service. Replacing older cable cranes with poor availability and high maintenance cost, Shah Cement has clearly recognized the importance of having state-of-the-art equipment on the dock. With this investment Shah Cement shows confidence in the future of the cement industry and their strong will to be an industry leader in Bangladesh.

The visit of the Mr. Hafiz Sikander, Director Operations & Chief Executive Officer of Shah Cement, to our Belgian assembly plant is proof of the genuine interest by Shah Cement in buying top quality products and service from first-class, world renowned equipment manufacturers. Despite bad weather and tough work conditions, our senior erection supervisors Guido Van Hoecke, Klaas De Brabander and Jean-Marie Verschoore were very pleased with the support and can-do attitude of the on-site erection crew.

Also the training for the maintenance people as well as the crane operators was successfully completed by Jean-Marie Verschoore. During the training the operators were immediately capable of unloading 200 tons per hour ‘through ship’. Now, after another 150 hours of continuous operation more than 25.000 tons of cement clinker has been offloaded… Impressive start-up!

Congratulations to Shah management and to all who contributed in the success of this project!
